The EAP is a service for William Paterson University faculty and staff and their household members. The EAP offers confidential short term counseling and referral for problems ranging from work-related concerns to personal difficulties that affect an individual's everyday life. Trained counselors help with problems such as career issues, child care, elder care, family and workplace relationship problems, finances, health care, mental health, retirement, substance abuse, and Work/Life balance.

Develops and distributes the annual Surgeon General's report on smoking and health, coordinates a national public information and education program on tobacco use and health, and coordinates tobacco education and research efforts. Toll-free hotline is designed to give easier access to specific educational materials and publications.

New Jersey Quitline offers toll-free telephone counseling in 26 languages to help callers at every stage in the quitting process develop treatment that meets the need of the individual. This service is augmented by 15 New Jersey Quitcenters where counseling on smoking cessation is available on a sliding scale fee or according to income. The online portion of this servce is, a free online resource that provides comprehensive inididvidually tailored smoking cessation options, peer support, and access to the advice of advisors.
