William Paterson University Honored as “Military Friendly School” for Seventh Year in a Row

William Paterson University has been honored as a “military friendly school” for the seventh year in a row by the 2017 Guide to Military Friendly Schools and is included in their online listing at militaryfriendly.com.

“We’re proud of our veterans and of the contributions they make to our community and will do everything we can to support them both academically and personally,” says Miki Cammarata, vice president for student development at William Paterson.

William Paterson earned the designation from Victory Media, publisher of G.I JobsSTEM Jobs, and Military Spouse, which based its decision on public data sources from the Department of Education, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Defense. Each year, the list of Military Friendly Schools is provided to service members and their families, helping them select the best college, university, or trade school to receive the education they need.

In addition to the 2017 Guide to Military Friendly Schools, the University will be showcased in special education issues of G.I Jobs and Military Spouse magazines.

The University’s Office of Veteran and Military Affairs offers information, resources, and a supportive environment for veterans, active military and dependents, and provides assistance with the unique challenges students face as they transition from military service to college life. William Paterson students may join the Student Veteran Organization, an active club on campus, and Omega Delta Sigma, a national veterans’ fraternity.

William Paterson has a long history of support for veterans, dating back to post-World War II when veterans enrolled under the G.I. Bill of Rights.
