Collage! 2023, a Scholarship Benefit Concert Featuring University Music Students, Set for February 17


William Paterson University’s Music Department will showcase the musical talent of its students, from jazz to pop to musical theater, at Collage! 2023, a special concert event on Friday, February 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on the University’s campus in Wayne.

Collage! 2023 is a benefit concert for the William Paterson University Music Department’s endowed music scholarship fund.

The program features the “best of the best” of the University’s music program that includes jazz, choral, musical theatre, pop, percussion, and instrumental works. More than 125 students will participate, performing works by George Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, Aaron Copland, Johnny Nash, and Labrinth. Students from the University’s internationally acclaimed Jazz Studies Program, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023, will perform music by the late trumpet player and composer Thad Jones, who was William Paterson’s first director of jazz studies.

William Paterson student groups slated to perform include the Percussion Ensemble, the Jazz Orchestra, the Concert Choir, the Pop Vocal Ensemble, the Pop Band, and the Wind Symphony.
