Civic Engagement and Anthropology

Anthropology has a rich tradition in community and civic engagement.  Through field research, data collection, and theory building, our students are learning to reach out and become committed to assisting local communities in achieving their goals and meeting specific needs.

Below are some of the recent projects and on-going events that our students are organizing and Upcoming Student Activities:       

VanRiper-Hopper House Museum
WPU students enrolled in CRM & Community Engagement (UCC-5) will be spending part of their class time (Spring 2018) at the VanRiper-Hopper Museum helping to catalog artifacts, interpret exhibits, create didactic panels and display information, develop age-appropriate education programs for schools children and scouts, and help with publicity and social media.
