Sean K. Wilson received his B.S. and M.S from New Jersey City University and his PhD from Texas Southern University. His research interests include race and crime, critical policing, qualitative research, and penology. He is very active in progressive circles in the NY/NJ metropolitan area and has presented at several academic conferences around the U.S.  Recently, he has published several chapters in an edited volume on anti-colonial criminology, Black male’s experiences with reentry, and an article relating strain theory to human Trafficking.  Professor Wilson currently serves as secretary for the Minorities and Women Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.  In addition, Professor Wilson has conducted urban ethnographic research that examines Black males' perceptions and experiences with police in Baltimore, Maryland.
