Helena D. Lewis is the Internship Coordinator for the Sociology Department at William Paterson University. She also teaches Intro to Human Services, Field Internship and Sociology Internship. With over 25 years of experience in the field of community correction, Lewis continues to work as a Treatment Director for a residential program for women inmates in Paterson, NJ.   She has a Master’s in Social Work and a BA in Biology from Rutgers University. She is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC).   
Lewis is also an award winning actress, poet, and playwright.  Her one-person show, Call Me Crazy: Diary of A Mad Social Worker,” chronicles her work in the social service field and won an AUDELCO for Best Solo-Performance. She is also a featured artist in the Peabody Award Winning series, “Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry.”
