Students from William Paterson University's Radio and TV Stations Win Three First-Place Awards from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System


Students celebrate their 2024 IBS Awards at the event in New York City

Students from William Paterson University’s radio and television stations, 88.7 FM Brave New Radio and WPTV, won a combined three first-place awards during the 2024 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards at a ceremony held on March 2, 2024 in New York City.

Students from 88.7 FM, Brave New Radio won in the category of Best Sports Pre/Post Game for the “Football Post-Game Show.”

“I am so happy and excited that the students in the sports department at WPSC were recognized by IBS for their efforts in producing high-quality sports radio content and their competition included such institutions as the University of Colorado – Boulder, Indiana State University, and Central Washington University” says Rob Taylor, WPSC-FM’s general manager.

Students from WPTV won two awards, for Best Comedy Program for Fake News Network, and for Best Talk Program for Very Late, “Is a College Degree Still Worth It?”

"We are thrilled our talented students from WPTV have once again been honored with national awards,” says Al Clarke, television studio manager and the WPTV club advisor. “This is the second year that each of these shows has been recognized, and it is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and dedication.”
