Here is what Miralda has to say about her career and the training that she received at WPU:  “Professionally speaking, I am able to combine my passion for teaching and improving the quality of life for patients as a Program Coordinator at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and an Adjunct Professor at William Paterson University.  As the program coordinator for the Sickle Cell Disease program, I oversee patient navigation through the health care system as an effort to decrease barriers to care. I conduct extensive data collection for federal grant funding and prepare reports necessary to program continuity and reporting. I am responsible for event planning, budget management, program implementation, internal and external operational liaison, program marketing, database management and reporting. I have gained hands on experience in planning, organizing, and facilitating educational workshops/support groups and evaluating patient performance.  I collaborate with quality improvement experts to develop effective measuring tools to validate public health initiatives. What is most rewarding about my current career status is being able to take my experiences as a public health professional back to the very same institution that help formulate the public health advocate that I am today.” (October, 2015)
