Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, but those submitted by the priority deadline (3/31/14) have greatest chance of funding. Students studying to teach science or math who intend to spend at least 2 years teaching in a high need school are eligible for scholarships up to $10,000 a year for up to two years. Professionals returning to teaching are eligible for one year of scholarship assistance. These scholarships have been made available by a generous grant from the National Science Foundation. Eligibility Requirements: Be enrolled in a Mathematics or Science major or Post-Baccalaureate program that prepares students for teacher certification and be enrolled in an Education major at William Paterson University. Have completed at least 60c with an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (undergraduate). Graduate students must also have a 3.0 GPA. Provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident alien at the time of application. Complete and file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the Financial Aid Office (only applies for undergraduate students). Be prepared to complete two years of teaching in a high-need urban school district for each year of scholarship support.
