TAC Lightning Round

On February 27, the Technology Across the Curriculum Committee presented the first Teaching with Technology Lightning Round.

The event was sponsored by the Provost's Office and Instruction and Research Technology. Six faculty members presented innovative technologies they use in their teaching. Each presenter had five minutes  - that's 20 slides at 15 seconds each - to cover their topic. They all did a great job in the "lightning-fast" event!

  • Lynne Orr - "Engaging Students through Technology: Bitmoji, Wordly, Pinterest"
  • Thomas Heinzen - "Information Trails: Game-Based Assessment"
  • Housen Maratouk - "Qualtrics for Teaching, Learning and Research"
  • Jeung Woon Lee - "Embracing the Technology: Virtual Reality and 3D Printing in Academia"
  • David Freestone - "Learning in a Tech-Driven World"
  • Cynthia Northington Purdie - "Powtoons!"

After the presentations there was a Q & A session between these six faculty and members of the audience. Based on positive feedback about the Lightning Round, the Technology Across the Curriculum committee plans to make this an annual event.
