News Notes About Faculty, Staff, and Students Stephen Bryant, music, performed in Tan Dun’s “Water Passion,” a concerto, during this summer’s Musikfeststuttgart, a monthlong music festival held in Stuttgart, Germany, in the city’s Bach Akademie. Robb Rehberg, kinesiology, has been appointed to the board of trustees of the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey. Rehberg conducts research on sports related concussions. Tina Lesher, communication, won first prize for fiction for her novel The Abaya Chronicles, from the National Federation of Press Women at their annual convention held in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Ofelia Garcia, recently retired professor of art and former dean of the College of the Arts and Communication, was appointed as chair of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. The council is an agency of the New Jersey Department of State, and works to support the state’s arts industry. Selected works by Robin Schwartz, art, were on display last month as part of a group exhibit, “Autumn Exhibition,” held at the Greenwich House Music School in New York City. 10/19/11
