Celebrate “Christmas with The Celts,” as Seen on PBS-TV, at William Paterson University on December 6

“Christmas with The Celts,” a joyful concert featuring Irish music, dancers, and theatrics as seen on PBS-TV, will be presented at William Paterson University in Wayne on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 8 p.m. in the Shea Center of Performing Arts on campus. The event is part of the University’s WP Presents! series.

Tickets are available in advance $25 for orchestra and $20 for the loge at the Shea Center Box Office at 973.720.2371 or wp-presents.org.

With Irish dancers, theatrics, spontaneous Irish humor, and inspirational goose bumps, The Celts will kick off the holiday season with a heartwarming, joyful concert of Irish and Scottish Christmas carols that date as far back as the 12th century.  The evening will include familiar classics such as “Joy to the World” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” with a Celtic flavor.

The Celts, previously known as The Blair Band, have been performing worldwide for nearly two decades. Led by founder Ric Blair, the band performs a combination of fiery Scottish/Irish traditional instrumental tunes and vocal songs as well as their own hybrid style of Celtic pop rock original songs with earthy, organic Celtic instrumentation. The Celts have recorded eight albums and have been featured on many Celtic music compilations over the years.
