John Sebastian of The Lovin’ Spoonful to Perform at William Paterson University on November 1

John Sebastian, whose group The Lovin’ Spoonful played a major role in the mid-1960s rock revolution, will perform on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at William Paterson University in Wayne. The concert, part of the WP Presents! Onstage Café at Shea, will be held at 8 p.m. in the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts. Tickets for the show only are $32; onstage seats are sold out.

From his days with The Lovin’ Spoonful and hits like Darling Be Home Soon, Do You Believe in Magic, Nashville Cats, Did You Ever Have To Make Up Your Mind and You Didn’t Have To Be So Nice to solo hits like the theme from Welcome Back Kotter, John Sebastian has pushed the envelope of folk music for more than 40 years. Inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, he has been the subject of a PBS special, Do You believe in Magic: The Music of John Sebastian, and continues to perform, record, and lend his music in support of social, environmental and animal rights causes.
