William Paterson University to Offer Online Winter Session Courses William Paterson will offer accelerated Online Winter Session courses during the University’s winter break from December 27, 2010 to January 16, 2011. William Paterson University in Wayne will offer accelerated Online Winter Session courses during the University’s winter break from December 27, 2010 to January 16, 2011. More than 70 courses will be available, including courses in music; economics, finance and global business; marketing; management; curriculum and instruction; education leadership; special education; Africana world studies; anthropology; English; geography and urban studies; history; languages and cultures; political science; psychology; sociology; women’s and gender studies; biology; kinesiology; mathematics; nursing; physics; and public health. All courses will be taught online via Blackboard, the University’s online course management system. “Now in its fourth year, William Paterson’s on-line winter session continues to expand the diversity of its offerings,” says Stephen Hahn, associate provost. “It offers students a highly focused learning experience and the opportunity to earn two to four credits in a short period of time.” Courses are open to William Paterson students as well as students from other institutions. Registration is limited to one course per student; previous experience taking online courses is strongly recommended. Students from other institutions are advised to seek prior approval for courses they wish to transfer back to their home institution for degree credit. Tuition and fees for undergraduate students who are New Jersey residents are $660 for two credits, $930 for three credits and $1,200 for four credits. Tuition and fees for out-of-state undergraduate students are $1,118 for two credits, $1,617 for three credits and $2,116 for four credits. Tuition and fees for graduate students who are New Jersey residents are $1,172 for two credits, $1,703 for three credits and $2,229 for four credits. Tuition and fees for out-of-state graduate students are $1,842 for two credits, $2,703 for three credits and $3,564 for four credits. Courses begin December 27 and end on January 16. Library reference assistance will be available by e-mail and by voice mail from noon to 4 p.m. December 27 through January 2 and on January 8-9. Instant messaging reference service will be available from noon to 4 p.m. when the library is closed during the session. Beginning on January 3, reference assistance will be available on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in person in the library, as well as by phone and e-mail. Technology support for Blackboard also will be available online with a 24-hour response time except for weekends.
