Five outstanding women received the 2014 Women of Vision Award during the Ninth Annual Red Dress Dinner on March 26, 2014 at William Paterson University. The annual event is a benefit to support the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, which promotes awareness of heart disease in women. The Women of Vision Award is designed to recognize women in the University community who are outstanding citizens, positive role models, skillful leaders who inspire those around them, and exemplify commitment to service and education. This year’s honorees are Maureen Conway, Class of 1966, member of the William Paterson University Board of Trustees; Anne Ciliberti, dean of library services; Betty Kollia, associate professor of communication disorders; Karimah Prescott, student, Class of 2014; and a special posthumous award for the late Diane Kalish, associate professor of mathematics. In addition, prizes were presented to the winners of the Annual Student Essay Contest: Sally Na, first place; Katie McNamara, second place; Gabriela Salvador, third place; and Amanda Jimenez and Rebecca Wance, honorable mention.
