Alumnus Robert Devine, Sally Glick, and Atlantic Health System to be Honored During University’s 24th Annual Legacy Award Gala on April 10

Alumnus Robert Devine ’74, a principal with SaxBST in strategic leadership, Sally Glick, principal and chief growth strategist at Sobel & Co., and Atlantic Health System will be honored for philanthropy, leadership, and community service as the William Paterson University Foundation hosts its twenty-fourth annual Legacy Award Gala on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at The Grove in Cedar Grove. The gala is the Foundation’s event to raise funds to support the University’s mission of promoting student success and academic excellence.

“I am honored to recognize our distinguished Legacy Award recipients, who serve as role models for our students,” says Pamela Ferguson, vice president for institutional advancement. “Each has made a significant impact on the William Paterson University community and beyond.  On behalf of the entire University community I thank them for their partnership, leadership, and friendship.”

Robert Devine ’74, who will be honored as a Distinguished Alumnus, has thirty years of general management, marketing, and financial experience in both consumer products and financial services. He started his own certified public accounting firm, Cohen Frankel & Devine, with Sy Frankel and Art Cohen in 1978.  Later, he served  as president and CEO of the Harz Mountain Corporation. He led a management buyout of the company and subsequently sold Hartz to a multi-national corporation.  During his tenure at Hartz, sales increased from $220 more than $430 million. In 2006, Devine left Hartz and commenced his consulting career with a Toronto-based process management firm, Managerial Design. He started the consulting firm Devine Strategic Leadership, LLC in 2008. In February 2012, Devine Strategic Leadership merged with northeast regional metro accounting and financial services firm SaxBST to run and expand their consulting capabilities.

Sally Glick is being honored as a Distinguished Friend. She is a principal of the firm and the chief growth strategist at Sobel & Co., a regional certified public accounting and consulting firm. In that role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s branding, marketing communications, and business development strategies. A leader in her field, Glick was inducted into the Association for Accounting Marketing’s Hall of Fame. She was selected as one of NJBIZ’s “Top 50 Women in Business” and later was named as the Garden State Foundation’s Woman of the Year - Professional Services category. She serves on several local and national boards including as the inaugural executive vice president of N.J.’s Association of Corporate Growth. She is a founder and charter member of the Liberty Science Center’s Women of Leadership Council.

The Foundation will honor Atlantic Health System as a Distinguished Corporation. It is one of the largest non-profit health care systems in New Jersey, and includes Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, N.J.; Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J.; Newton Medical Center in Newton, N.J.; Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, N.J.; and Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, N.J., as well as Atlantic Rehabilitation, and Atlantic Home Care and Hospice. It also includes its subsidiary, Atlantic Ambulance Corporation.  Atlantic Health System is comprised of 1,599 licensed beds, nearly 13,400 employees and more than 3,700 physicians. Atlantic Health System is a clinical and academic affiliate of The Mount Sinai Hospital and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; a Major Clinical Affiliate of Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey; part of Atlantic Accountable Care Organization, one of the largest ACOs in the nation, and is a member of AllSpire Health Partners.

Tickets for the gala are $425; tables of 10 can be purchased for $4,250. The event begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m., and presentation of the Legacy Awards.
