This exhibition is a highlight of the Printmaking Program of William Paterson University, showing the printmaking work of our students and focusing on the media of etching. Most of the works were selected from the Fall 2012 semester, while some other pieces are from former students. The program is one of the best-equipped and most innovative programs in New Jersey. It aims to provide teaching of the traditional printmaking techniques such as copper etching while, through students’ joint experiments, developing a new media, “Blue Film” etching. To continue the education of the culture and knowledge in traditional printmaking, it strives to offer new courses to update the curriculum and keep up with the modern techniques. In the exhibition, more than 30 works demonstrate the etching techniques from the past up to the most current production of printmaking, showing how the students have followed the printmaking tradition while endowing their work with a contemporary sense.
