Huangsheng Wang, a Famous Contemporary Chinese Artist, Visits William Paterson University

Dr. Huangsheng Wang, a famous contemporary Chinese artist and Director of the Art Museum of Central Academy of Arts in China and Deputy Director of the Art Museum Committee of China, visited William Paterson University on October 1, 2013 at the invitation of CCART. During his visit, Professor Wang gave a demonstration of and an academic lecture on Chinese ink paintings for University faculty and students. Dr. Sandmann Warren, Vice President and Provost of William Paterson University, and Daryl Moore, Dean of the College of Arts and Communication, met with Wang and discussed the intercollegiate art exchange and other issues.

Professor Wang also went to the Museum of Drexel University in Philadelphia to participate in the opening ceremony of "The Selected Students’ Works Exhibition in the Art Museum of China Central Academy of Arts" and relevant activities. He was also invited by Thomas Krens, the former Director of the Guggenheim Museum, to give a lecture in Massachusetts.

Wang obtained the Knight Medal of Art and Literature awarded by the French government in 2004. In 2006, he obtained the Knight Medal awarded by the President of Italy. Wang's artworks are collected and treasured by the China National Art Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum in England, Uffizi Gallery in Italy, and others.
