Kevin Lenahan, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Atlantic Health System, Joins William Paterson University Board Of Trustees

Kevin J. Lenahan, senior vice president, chief financial officer, and chief administrative officer for Atlantic Health System, Inc., has joined the Board of Trustees of William Paterson University in Wayne.

“We are delighted that Kevin Lenahan has joined the William Paterson University Board of Trustees,” says University President Kathleen Waldron. “As an alumnus who is a leader in the provision of healthcare in northern New Jersey, we welcome the unique perspective he brings on a major industry that impacts our state, including our students.  His experience as a chief financial officer brings valuable fiscal expertise to our board.”

Lenahan, who is a 1990 graduate of William Paterson with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, began his career at Atlantic Health in 1995 at the system’s Morristown campus and has served the organization in numerous capacities over the past 20 years, including serving as chief financial officer since 2010.  Lenahan also holds the positions of president and chair of Atlantic Health Management Corporation, president of Atlantic Insurance Company, Ltd. and president of Atlantic Ambulance, as well as treasurer of the Atlantic Health System Board.

In addition, Lenahan is president and CFO of the Atlantic Insurance Ltd., which provides professional and general liability coverage for the system and its employees. He is operationally responsible for the Atlantic Homecare/Hospice program, which has more than 300 field staff covering seven counties, and for Atlantic Investment Corp., which includes At Home Medical, Atlantic Private Care Services, Morristown Surgical Center-Endoscopy, Alliance Center for Weight Management, Eagle Ambulance, Real Estate-residential & commercial properties and the holding company for joint ventures.

Prior to joining Atlantic Health, Lenahan worked for Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P and was a senior Medicare audit and reimbursement analyst for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of New Jersey.

Lenahan has received numerous honors and awards. In 2013, he was named “CFO of the Year” by NJBIZ in the large, not-for-profit category.  In 2016, he was honored as the recipient of the CFO Innovation Award, presented by CFO Studios.

A fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, he is a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs and the College of Healthcare Executives, and previously served on the audit subcommittee of the United Way of Morris County and the board of Morris Catholic High School. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Cotsakos College of Business at William Paterson University. He is a resident of Flanders.
