William Paterson University Presents “A History of Hip-Hop,” by The Rennie Harris Awe-Inspiring Works Dance Company, on March 23

The dancers of the Rennie Harris Awe-Inspiring Works Dance Company will perform “A History of Hip-Hop” at William Paterson University on March 23, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. The performance, part of the WP Presents! series, will take place at the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus in Wayne.

This lecture/demonstration by dancers RHAW illustrates how hip-hop connects with its roots in African tradition and culture. Dr. Rennie Harris’s understanding of youth culture is displayed in the performances and teachings of the dance company. The program is designed and structured to focus on younger generations and urban culture by demonstrating discipline and focus through hip-hop theater performance, education and outreach programming.
