William Paterson University to Host 10th Annual Green A-Fair on April 5

William Paterson University in Wayne will hold its 10th Annual Green A-Fair on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the University Commons Ballroom on campus. The annual event, hosted by the University’s Climate Action Committee and Green Team, offers a venue for organizations and companies to get together to discuss sustainability, environmental issues and resourceful living. Admission is free.

A vendor fair will feature more than 30 vendors and environmentally minded organizations including City Green, the National Park Service, Avian Wildlife Rescue, Hackensack Riverkeeper, and the Laurelwood Arboretum will be in attendance.

A teach-in on a variety of environmental issues will be held starting at 9:30 a.m. Kylie Sale, resource management specialist for Whole Foods, will discuss the company’s green mission.  Victor J. Alfieri of Wayne will discuss his involvement in the urban homesteading movement.  Artist Anna Percoco, co-founder of the Next Epoch Seed Library, a crowdsourced seed bank that is focused on weedy species most likely to survive and thrive in a landscape dominated by human excess.  Finally, the Coalition Against the Pilgrim Pipeline will discuss the risks of the proposed 60-mile pipeline through northern New Jersey.
