Professor Nadine Aktan Named March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Finalist 2017 as Academic Educator

Nadine Aktan, chair and professor of nursing at William Paterson University, was selected to be a March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Finalist 2017 in the category of Academic Educator.

“We are very proud of Professor Aktan for being a 2017 finalist for the prestigious March of Dimes Nurse of the Year award,” says Venkat Sharma, dean of the College of Science and Health at William Paterson. “She has distinguished herself as a nurse and as an academic educator through her strong commitment as a professor and chair in the University’s Department of Nursing.”

The March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards recognize nursing excellence and achievements in research, education, quality patient care, innovation and leadership. The awards will be presented at an awards gala on November 15, 2017 at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge. The event will highlight the nursing profession, recognize all the nurse finalists in 12 nursing categories, and announce the recipients of the 2017 New Jersey Nurse of the Year Awards.
