Six-time James Beard Award Recipient, Chef and Bestselling Author Ruth Reichl to Speak on November 9

Ruth Reichl, the bestselling author, food critic and judge on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters will speak at William Paterson Univsersity on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. as a part of the WP Presents new Food for Thought series.

Reichl will discuss the future and safety of food during a lecture, “Protect What We Eat: How to Fix America’s Great Food Failure,” at the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts. Her love for food and culinary education along with writing has earned the chef six James Beard awards. Reichl’s extensive expertise in cuisine will enlighten viewers about food sustainability and the potential of food.

The Seattle Times called her “one of the nation’s most influential figures in the food world.” She is also a recipient of the 2008 Matrix Award for Magazines from New York Women in Communications, Inc.

Reichl served as the final editor-in-chief of Gourmet magazine for 10 years, and is the author of several critically acclaimed memoirs, including My Kitchen Year: 136 Recipes that Saved My Life, in 2015.
