William Paterson University’s WP 88.7 FM was named “Best College Radio Station” (among institutions with more than 10,000 students) for the fourth time in seven years among its five first place awards and the television station WPTV-6 won three first place awards at the national Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) award ceremony this past weekend.
Nearly 900 students from more than 150 colleges/universities were present at the awards ceremony held at the annual IBS Conference from March 2 to 4, 2018 at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City.
“I’m absolutely thrilled that WP 88.7 FM is maintaining its reputation as the best station in the nation and that we won eight first place awards for our radio and TV stations," says Brave New Radio general manager Rob Quicke, chair and professor of communication. “I congratulate all our students for putting their passion and talent into these stations.”
