William Paterson University to Host 11th Annual Green-A-Fair on April 4, Focusing on Sustainability, Environmental Issues and Resourceful Living

William Paterson University in Wayne will hold its 11th Annual Green A-Fair on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the University Commons Ballrooms on campus. The annual event, hosted by the University’s Green Team, offers a venue for organizations and companies to get together to discuss sustainability, environmental issues and resourceful living. Admission is free.

A vendor fair will feature more than 30 vendors and environmentally minded organizations including City Green, Great Swamp Watershed Association, Avian Wildlife Rescue, Hackensack Riverkeeper, and the Laurelwood Arboretum.

Members of the environmental/art and design collective SPURSE and authors of the cookbook Eat Your Sidewalk, will discuss food and the environment with Peter Hoffman, chef/owner of the former New York City farm-to-table restaurant Savoy, during a lecture at 11 a.m. in Ballroom A. SPURSE will offer tastes of foraged foods during the lecture. SPURSE is a creative collective focused on social, ecological, and ethical transformation.

There will also be a lecture on how to set up container gardens, and New Food and Water Watch will discuss the 100 percent renewable energy campaign. In addition, there will be a screening of the film An Inconvenient Sequel at 2 pm. All lectures will be held in Ballroom A.
