William Paterson University Student Team to Compete in Final Round of Financial Planning Challenge in Chicago, IL from October 2 to 5, 2018

Three William Paterson University students, one of eight teams chosen from more than 20 university teams nationwide, will compete in the Financial Planning Challenge final round at the Financial Planning Association’s 2018 conference to be held in Chicago, IL from October 2 to 5, 2018. Previously, William Paterson won first place in the 2016 Financial Planning Challenge.

Seniors Jonathan Hommes of Hawthorne, NJ; Maria Velarde Ku of Glen Rock, NJ; and Robert Wolfe of West Milford, NJ, financial planning majors in the University’s Cotsakos College of Business, comprise the team. They will be accompanied by Tao Guo, assistant professor in the College’s Department of Economics, Finance and Global Business.

While at the conference, the team will orally present their financial planning case study to a panel of judges and participate in a How Do You Know? Challenge. The top three winning teams will be awarded a monetary scholarship for their school.
