Five William Paterson University financial planning students volunteered to attend the Schwab Impact 2018 conference held in Washington, D.C. from October 28 to October 31, 2018, where they networked, participated in panels and attended learning sessions.

Michele Boyle, Stephanie Galindo, Jonathan Hommes, Joseph Naum and Morgan Nover, all members of the Financial Planning Club, represented William Paterson University at the conference for financial advisors.

Schwab invited 80 students to the event to network with Registered Investment Advisory Firms, participate in panels about talent acquisition and diversity, and attend learning sessions such as the tax efficiency of Exchange Traded Funds.

The students were able to attend general sessions where Janet Yellen, former Chair of the Federal Reserve, spoke about the economy and two former White House Chiefs of Staff, Andrew Card and Denis McDonough discussed the state of politics.
