WP Financial Planning Student Joins Industry Professional at “Savvy Ladies Gala”

Maria Velarde Ku, a senior majoring in financial planning at William Paterson University, was the guest of Eleanor Blayney, CFP, at the Savvy Ladies Gala, a benefit dinner for an organization dedicated to empowering women to achieve financial independence, on November 8, 2018 at The Princeton Club of New York. "I hope more female students will feel motivated to become personal financial planners and join this rewarding profession," says Velarde Ku.

Blayney is the founder of the “Eleanor Blayney Gender Diversity Fund” at the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning to promote gender parity in the financial planning profession. For the past three years, Blayney has invited a William Paterson financial planning student to join her at award luncheons and has helped the students make connections with industry professionals.
