The William Paterson University Jazz Orchestra will perform at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola/Jazz at Lincoln Center at 7.30 and 9.30 p.m. on Monday, April 1.
The group is under the direction of Pete McGuinness, WP music professor, and will perform with guest soloist Ingrid Jensen, leading jazz trumpeter who has toured and recorded with a long list of jazz heavyweights. The program will feature Jensen as a soloist with the William Paterson Jazz Orchestra and will also include premieres of several new arrangements by WP jazz arranging students in the master of music program.
Two of the jazz studies program’s 24 small ensembles will open each set. The groups are directed by jazz studies program director and internationally known jazz pianist Bill Charlap.
