William Paterson University Presents Asian Cultural Celebration from March 25 to April 7


William Paterson University presents an Asian Cultural Celebration from Monday, March 25 to Sunday, April 7, 2019. The series is sponsored by a committee comprised of student clubs, organizations, and academic and administrative departments to recognize the current and historical contributions of Asian and Pacific peoples in the United States and its associated territories. Events include:

Monday, March 25

  • Call her Ganda: Movie viewing and discussion, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., University Commons Ballroom C.

Tuesday, March 26

  • Opening Celebration – Mudra: Explore the Connections between Indian Classical Dance and the Visual Arts, 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., University Commons Ballroom A
  • Crazy Rich Asians: Movie and discussion,5:30 pm to 8 p.m., University Commons Ballroom A

Wednesday, March 27

  • Self-Care Space,tips and techniques on how to succeed, relax and practice well-being, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., University Commons 202
  • Small Talk, Big Issues,an interactive panel discussion focusing on contemporary topics, news and issues facing the Asian community,7 p.m. to 10 p.m., University Commons Multipurpose Room

Thursday, March 28

  • Holi Hai: Celebrating the Festival of Color, celebrate all the colors bythrowing colored powder up in the air; featuring Indian food, music and performances, 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., Zanfino Plaza
  • Diversity in Gaming: Game Night and Discussion, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., University Commons Multipurpose Room
