Substitute Teacher License Workshop to be Held at William Paterson on October 11


A substitute teacher license workshop designed to provide the skills needed to become an effective substitute teacher will be held at William Paterson University on Friday, October 11, 2019  from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1600 Valley Road in Wayne, NJ.

The workshop will provide the essential skills and materials needed to be a substitute teacher in New Jersey public and private schools. The program will provide participants with a “toolbox” of ideas and materials and critical classroom skills to manage any grade-level classroom. Topics include strategies for effective classroom management, curriculum planning, legal issues, school district process and procedures, and the pathway to permanent certification.

This workshop is open to anyone interested in teaching in their local schools, including individuals who have 60 college credits, or have previous experience as substitute teachers and are seeking additional classroom skills. The program is appropriate for substituting at any grade level from pre-K through grade 12 and will focus on gaining essential skills and confidence.
