For the second year in a row, Akram Kwaik, owner of Manhattan Bagel in Wayne, held a fundraiser and donated a major portion of his proceeds to William Paterson University.
Kwaik recently presented the University with a check for $2,050 designated for scholarships.
“We are so grateful to Akram Kwaik of Manhattan Bagel for this generous donation,” says Richard J. Helldobler, president of William Paterson University. “It is wonderful to have the support of a local business owner who is so giving and supportive of our students.”
According to Manhattan Bagel representative Angela Greene-Hicks, Kwaik is the largest franchisee, with multiple locations in New Jersey. “He is very generous and likes to be a part of the community in which he serves,” she says.
