WP Financial Planning Students Participate in National Association of Personal Financial Advisors Conference in Chicago

Michele Boyle and Morgan Nover

Michele Boyle and Morgan Nover, financial planning majors in the Cotsakos College of Business at William Paterson University, were each awarded the Diahann W. Lassus Scholarship that allowed them to attend in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) fall conference in Chicago.

Both students participated in a round table discussion on “The Competitive Advantage on Diversity and Leading Inclusively,” and attended several educational sessions for the financial advice industry.

The conference gave the students an opportunity to network with financial advice professionals and included a reception event, “Supporting Women in Financial Planning.”  Boyle and Nover are officers in the University’s Financial Planning Club and discussed speaking engagements for the Club with representatives from TIAA and The Fiduciary Institute. The conference ran from October 1 to 4, 2019.

The Diahann W. Lassus Scholarship Scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to students from CFP® Board Registered Financial Planning Programs to attend a NAPFA national conference.
