William Paterson University Presents The Imaginary Invalid by Jean-Baptiste Moliere from March 3 through 8

William Paterson Theatre presents The Imaginary Invalid by Jean-Baptiste Moliere, directed by Nancy Kutzer, at William Paterson University in Wayne from Tuesday, March 3 through Saturday, March 8 at the Hunziker Black Box Theater on campus.

Performances will be held March 3 to 7 at 7:00 p.m., March 7 at 2:00 p.m., and March 8 at 3:00 p.m. General admission is $15, and $10 for senior citizens, William Paterson students, faculty and staff.

This is a contemporary performance of the famous 17th century French play about family with a modern translation. It has an all-William Paterson student and alumni cast, and is directed by Nancy Kutzer, an adjunct professor at William Paterson.

This classic farce by Moliere shows us a well-known hypochondriac father, obsessed with himself and his skyrocketing medical bills. Argan concocts a plan to marry his daughter to a doctor to solve his problems, but alas, she loves another. Truth and love triumph as all troubles, real and imaginary, fade away with laughter.

Nancy Kutzer has been a William Paterson faculty member since 2006. New to directing, her background includes significant acting experience, which allows her to relate to her actors from a  performance perspective.

The cast includes Daniel Cassini (Hawthorne, NJ), Ryan DeCesare (Totowa, NJ), Morgen Fisher (Lebanon, NJ), Skye Gugliuzza (Nutley, NJ), Lucas Hopper (Kingston, NY), Kate Lawlor (Bloomfield, NJ), Ethan Lyte (Plainfield, NJ), Star Kent-Finnegan (Verona, NJ), Cade Morgan (Fredon, NJ), Robyn Snyder (Parsippany, NJ). Samantha Cordero (Tobyhanna, PA) is the assistant director.
