William Paterson University Launches 100 Percent Online Degree Programs Set to Begin July 13

The University’s new fully online degree platform, WP Online, has launched with 10 different degree programs in education, nursing and business set to begin during Summer II on July 13, 2020.

“We are off to a strong start just one month in, with 135 applications overall and more than 800 inquiries across the 10 programs,” says Joshua Powers, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “WP Online is an important initiative as we look to build enrollment and attract new students, especially working professionals who are seeking a fast-track format.  We are very encouraged by these early positive indicators.”

All 10 programs are designed to provide students with additional educational opportunities beyond the University’s campus-based programs, and that enable them to complete their degree in one year, online, on their own time, and with six start dates per year and courses that run every seven weeks.

The three online education degree options are the Master of Arts (MA) in Higher Education Administration and two versions of a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership, one of which includes New Jersey certification opportunities.

The online nursing program is the Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) and is built for nurses who have completed their associate’s degree and are licensed as a Registered Nurse.

The University is also offering six Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs. In addition to the broad-based general MBA, students can pursue five specialized online MBAs with concentrations in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management, and Accounting.

The accelerated format allows students in these online programs to graduate in as few as 12 months while maintaining full-time employment and fulfilling personal responsibilities. The flexible design permits 24/7 access to the programs for students in and beyond New Jersey who seek a personalized, supportive learning environment.

Eight additional nursing programs are slated to begin in fall 2020, including four versions of a RN to Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, and four post-master’s certificate programs for those who already hold the MSN.
