William Paterson University to Launch New Adult Degree Completion Program in Communication Studies that is Designed for Working Professionals

William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey is launching a new Adult Degree Completion Program in communication studies through its School of Continuing and Professional Education in fall 2020. The program is intended for those who attended college, but did not complete their bachelor’s degree. Successful completion of the program results in a bachelor of arts degree in communication with a concentration in communication studies.

The Adult Degree Completion program is designed to help people working in high-growth fields earn their degrees on an expedited, flexible schedule. Courses are offered in a fixed sequence that incorporates online sessions and optional in-person meetings in the fall and spring semesters, with opportunities to earn additional credits in winter and summer sessions.

“Many positions in high-growth industry sectors such as business, technology, and healthcare require a bachelor’s degree for advancement and career growth,” says Bernadette Tiernan, executive director of School of Continuing and Professional Education. “Our Adult Degree Completion programs bring busy working professionals to the finish line as quickly as possible.”

Those who have previously completed 60 or more credits and require an additional 60 credits to finish their degrees are eligible for the program. Additional credits can be applied to the degree based on work experience, corporate training, professional licenses/certifications, standardized national exams, and military training or experience. Support services are available through the School of Continuing and Professional Education to assist with enrollment and registration, as well as career advisement that builds on academic skills and fosters work/life balance.

Applications are now being accepted for the first cohort in communication studies, which will begin online classes in fall 2020. For more information, or to apply, call 973-720-2354 or visit www.wpunj.edu/cpe.
