Moscow Ballet’s holiday classic ballet, Great Russian Nutcracker, will be presented in a special virtual performance on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 8 p.m. as part of William Paterson University’s fall 2020 WP Presents! series.

With world-class artists, over 200 dazzling costumes, nearly 80 professional dancers, stunning sets, towering puppets and soaring birds, Moscow Ballet’s acclaimed Great Russian Nutcracker has become a holiday tradition in households across America. The show evokes a simpler time filled with sweet dreams and Christmas magic in this production of the classic story set to the famous score by Tchaikovsky.

This special performance, captured live on stage, also includes an up-close look at the behind-the-scenes action. Cameras take a trip backstage to show how the magic is made; hear first-hand from the world-class artists, designers, and creators of the production.

The Moscow Ballet, an independent Russian-owned company, has toured across North America and Canada since 1993, and performs 100 engagements each year. The company also offers other well-known classic ballets performances, such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.
