African Soul International Brings Entertaining and Educational Live Music Presentation to William Paterson on February 25


African Soul International, a live musical presentation that aims to educate, entertain, and inspire audiences with live drumming, dancing, storytelling, and songs, will perform at the Shea Center for Performing Arts on the William Paterson University campus in Wayne, NJ on Friday, February 25. The performance will start at 5:00 p.m. and admission is free.

Established in 1998 by Jewel Jackson, or Sista Jewel, African Soul International has touched over 100,000 lives with their passionate performances, workshops, and presentations designed to preserve the rich history of African culture and traditions.

Jackson, who holds a doctor of education degree from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, has developed a curriculum centered on the different rhythms and traditions of African dance and music, teaching audiences the cultural significance of each movement.

African Soul International was the first place winner of the 2019 African Dance Awards in Los Angeles and received the 2019 Congressional Award for community service.
