Mad River Theater Works Presents Freedom Riders at William Paterson University on March 2

Acclaimed touring ensemble Mad River Theater Works brings their new production, Freedom Riders, to William Paterson University in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus in Wayne, NJ on Wednesday, March 2.

Performance times are 10:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Admission is free for all attendants.

Freedom Riders explores the valiant and courageous personalities behind one of the most critical chapters of the civil rights movement with original songs and music performed by the talented Mad River troupe.

Demonstrating the importance of working together to affect change, specifically how non-violent protesters were used to focus attention on the cruelties of segregation, Freedom Riders paints a realistic but inspiring portrayal of a pivotal moment in U.S. history.

Mad River Theater Works creates vibrant and evocative plays with music for families and young audiences based on American history and folklore. Founded in 1978, Mad River presents original productions that explore traditional stories and themes in a unique, innovative style.
