INFORMATION FOR
Rockapella, the original pitch perfect a cappella superstars, will kick off the holiday season with a concert of holiday music at William Paterson University in Wayne on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus. The performance begins at 8:00 p.m.
First achieving national television fame in the 1990s on the PBS television hit, Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?, Rockapella has toured the globe and provided a funky powerful soundtrack to several generations of vocal music fans, while keeping it fresh along the way. As one of the progenitors of the full-band sound of “contemporary” a cappella, Rockapella showcases the raw power of pure vocal talent and originality, with no instruments or hidden tracks.
The ensemble is known for their catchy original songs, as well as contemporary revisions of pop and soul classics, plus an unbeatable Christmas catalog. In addition to three compilation albums in Japan, Rockapella has released 19 albums in the U.S. and Japan.
The current Rockapella lineup features Scott Leonard, high tenor and arranger; Jeff Thacher, vocal percussionist; Calvin Jones, tenor, Manny Houston, tenor, and George Baldi, bass.
Tickets are $45 for orchestra/front loge and $35 for rear loge. There is a 10 percent discount for William Paterson faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as senior citizens. All tickets are an additional $5 on the day of the show.
