National Association of Broadcasters Names WP Radio Station a Top 5 Finalist for “College Radio Station of the Year”

William Paterson University’s radio station, 88.7 WPSC-FM/ Brave New Radio, has been named a Top 5 Finalist for College Radio Station of the Year in the National Association of Broadcasters’ annual Marconi Radio Awards.

This is the sixth time the radio station has been nominated for a Marconi Radio Award, which it won two of those times, in 2018 for “Non-Commercial Station of the Year” and in 2021 for “College Radio Station of the Year.”

“Our students have consistently continued the tradition of Brave New Radio being nominated for radio’s top honor.  We are located in the New York Metro area, the largest radio market in the country, and the students know they need to be the best at what they do, and they have shown once again this year that they are,” says Rob Taylor, general manager of WPSC-FM.

“Getting to the finals for another year shows that our time and learning at the station have an outstanding value, and we feel even more motivated to improve and continue doing what we love,” the students posted on Instagram, in announcing the news.

Established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the NAB Marconi Radio Awards are given to radio stations and outstanding on-air personalities to recognize excellence in radio.

The winners will be announced and honored during an event on October 9 in New York City.
