Cannabis Research Institute (CRI)

The Cannabis Research Institute at William Paterson University is designed to provide evidence-based scientific and social scientific information on topics related to cannabis, as well as opioid drugs and other substances.

The Institute is comprised of several University faculty and staff from a range of academic disciplines who conduct economic, public health, clinical, and biological research, as well as analyze data to inform policy makers, provide information for drug-related counseling, and inform curricula.

Cannabis Research Institute members are available to act in an advisory capacity to state, county, or municipal agencies and to nongovernmental organizations seeking information concerning medicinal and recreational use of marijuana. The Institute will disseminate and discuss results of research and policy analyses through reports, working papers, conferences, seminars, and public lectures.
