She has been a speech language pathologist for more than 25 years with expertise in cognitive and language processes and disorders due to autism, stroke, and traumatic brain injury, among other causes. She is involved in various interprofessional teaching and research activities to inform the field of communication disorders. Cannabis availability and usage may affect sensitive populations, such as those with limited English proficiency and youth (esp. with language and learning disabilities) disproportionately from other groups, as well as persons who have sustained brain damage impacting their communication and cognition. Dr. Kollia brings a unique clinical expertise to these populations.
