Rising Income Inequality: Why Should Managers Care?

Rising Income Inequality in the US and around the world has caught the attention of every stakeholder of organizations and societies. Research in a number of disciplines, ranging from economics to epidemiology has shown that high levels of income inequality is harmful to societies. But, can high levels of inequality damage organizations? If so, what can managers do about it? This presentation will use insights from recent and ongoing research to address these questions.

Instructor Bio

Dr. Hari Bapuji is currently an Associate Professor at the Asper School of Business, University of Mantoba, Canada. He has published articles in leading academic journals such as the Harvard Business Review, the Journal of Operations Management and others. His book, "Not Just China: the Rise of Recalls in the Age of Global Business" was named to CHOICE Magazine's Outstanding Academic Title's list. Dr. Bapuji has been cited in media New York Times, Wall Street Journal, China Daily, Forbes and numerous other online and print publications.
