It is the intent of the program to provide current advanced information on educational research, service delivery, trends, community services, societal attitudes, technical developments, and instructional strategies and practices for the education of persons with disabilities. The program's varied offerings allow teachers, learning consultants, supervisors, and other personnel within and outside special education to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to serve the disabled in a variety of settings. This program is offered online only with synchronous and asynchronous delivery. Upon successful completion of the required curriculum and documented three years of teaching experience, the candidate is eligible for the New Jersey certificate as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDT-C).Click here for the Office of Certification. Information Regarding LDT-C Clinical Component In order to receive a permit to register for SPED 6570 Seminar in Clinical Application of Learning Disabilities, you must submit the following paperwork: Application for LDT-C Clinical Component Resume for Clinical Work (4 copies) AND If you are doing the clinical component in your own school, you must also submit the LDT-C District Permission Letter All of the necessary paperwork can be found on the Office of Field Experience webpage. Please keep the following dates in mind as you complete the paperwork: Semester of Clinical Placement Application Due Fall 2022 January 15, 2022 Spring 2023 October 15, 2022 Summer 2023 February 1, 2023 Fall 2023 February 1, 2023 Please turn all completed and signed paperwork in to the Graduate Director by the above due dates and be sure that all paperwork is neat and complete, or it will not be accepted.
