Barbara Vanderhoof, BS

Major: Exercise Physiology, Class of 2016

Position: Exercise Physiologist for Cardiac Rehabilitation at Atlantic Health System

After doing her internship at Hackettstown Medical Center for William Paterson University’s Exercise Physiology major, Barbara was offered a position a few weeks before graduation. Barbara is responsible for providing high quality care to patients post cardiac intervention/ surgery in a clinical setting. She also helps with many educational support groups as well as educates her patients daily on certain cardiac topics. Barbara’s work focuses on the geriatric populations for the most part. She works with a team of RNs, PTs and OTs in both the inpatient and outpatient setting to help patients get stronger and meet their cardiorespiratory goals everyday. Barbara is also a clinical instructor for WPU students during their internship for clinical experience in a hospital setting. Barbara is currently working on her Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration with a graduation date of June 2020.
