Kyle McGough

Major: Exercise Science, BS William Paterson University

Further Education: MBA in Strategic Management & Organizational Change From Wagner College

Position: Strength & Conditioning Coach At The Ohio State University for Football

Kyle Is currently at an Entry Level position at Ohio State University (OSU) where he works with student athletes to maximize their success and development both on and off of the field. Other than physically training the Buckeye football team Kyle works with sports science where his job is to analyze and organize data of metrics that are important to the teams training philosophy and display it in ways that can help the decision making process in strategic periodization. Kyle affirms that the fundamental knowledge of body sciences was a large competitive advantage in a extremely competitive field. A lot of strength and conditioning knowledge is gained through the personal pursuit of development and experience through internships and professional fieldwork. But the cornerstones of anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology and many of the exercise science labs are very applicable in day-to-day execution. At an institution like OSU where the stakes are high and the resources are almost unlimited, there is a wide variety of technology and equipment that is used in the day-to-day operations of strength and conditioning where Kyle falls back on his WPU foundation. He urges young strength coaches and exercise science professionals to push their level of discomfort, take the leap of faith into uncharted waters and pursue your dreams. Be relentless in your pursuit and don’t let anything slow your momentum. Become calloused from your experiences and always be learning because in a field like this knowledge is power.

"WPUNJ allowed me to do these things and supported me along the way, they opened the door for the opportunity that allowed me to be great."
