Tyler Mortensen

Tyler Mortensen graduated from William Paterson University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and furthered his studies, graduating in 2018 with a Master’s degree in Exercise & Sport Studies with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. His internship during his undergraduate studies was at Push To Walk, a rehabilitation and fitness center for spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, and other forms of paralysis. Also during his undergraduate career, he was a four-year starter and president of the university’s bowling team, member of Greek life and fraternity’s scholarship chairman, active member of the Kinesiology Club, Orientation Leader, and co-educating Peer Leader for first year students.

Tyler was a Graduate Assistant for the Kinesiology Department and was responsible for running the Human Performance Lab as well assisting the Exercise Science professors with conducting labs for both undergraduate and graduate courses. In fulfillment of his degree, he completed a Masters Thesis on The Effect of Sucrose vs Non-Nutritive Sweeteners on Blood Glucose Levels During Exercise and presented at Student Research Day on campus and at the 2018 American College of Sports Medicine Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference. During his collegiate career, Tyler was also awarded twice with the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and with the Outstanding Senior Award.

Tyler is currently working part-time in corporate fitness as a Health Fitness Professional for the HealthFitness Corporation. His responsibility is managing the personal training department, along with promoting health and well-being through instructing group exercise classes and various programs. He is also currently working full-time position as an Exercise Physiologist at Princeton Longevity Center. Where he performs fitness assessments, stress tests, DEXA scans, and developed individualized exercise presentations.
