Valarie DiMartino, MS

Valarie graduated from William Paterson with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology (2012) and a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology and Sports Studies (2014). She interned in cardiac rehabilitation at Hackensack Hospital and at Pyramid Physical Performance Center in West Orange NJ as an undergraduate (2011-2012). After earning her Masters degree, Valarie worked in cardiac rehabilitation at Englewood Hospital and for the YWCA of Bergen County where she designs/leads group exercise classes for seniors, adults, children, special populations and young athletes. More work for the YW includes blogs on exercise and cancer prevention/reaching goals and lecturing about healthy lifestyles. Simultaneously, she is overseeing YW fitness instructors teaching at county senior centers. Her packed fitness classes earned her a position managing a grant funded program for seniors where she schedules budgets and expands the program for 7 satellite centers across the county. She has presented original research at ASCM’s regional MARC conferences titled The Effects of Fish Oil on Inflammatory Markers and Phosphate Decrement In Repeated Sprint Ability. Valarie adjuncts part-time at her alma mater in the Kinesiology department and is currently a student herself, working on her PhD in Movement Science.
