May 21, 2021 Greetings! This week, we celebrated the newest group of Pioneer alumni during a series of in-person Commencement ceremonies on campus for the William Paterson Class of 2021, which makes it a great time to share the next episode of “WP Reflections,” featuring another WP graduate, Michael Blizzard ’07. As you may recall from my March 25 email launching the series, “WP Reflections” is our new interview series, in which I speak with some of the many fascinating people who make up the William Paterson community, including our terrific and accomplished alumni. Michael certainly fits that bill. He is a prominent medical researcher, who currently serves as Oncology Research Administrator at New Jersey Urology. In our discussion, Michael talks about how William Paterson launched his career journey, shares why he supports the University through various forms of philanthropy, and even recites a meaningful poem from memory! Pioneer alumni and friends of the University are doing great things in their professions and in their communities, throughout New Jersey, across the country, and around the world. Common to these diverse people and stories is this special place we call William Paterson. Thank you to everyone who took the time to check out our inaugural interview, and I hope you all enjoy watching all of these interviews as much as I enjoyed conducting them. Please be on the lookout for future episodes of “WP Reflections” by email and on the University’s official social media channels. In the meantime, keep in touch, have a great summer, and, as always, Go Pioneers! Sincerely, Richard J. Helldobler, Ph.D. President
